On the topic of “teasers”, one of the things we’ll be talking about in the coming weeks is project Gemini. I won’t get into the details just yet (otherwise it wouldn’t be a teaser), other than to say it’s a powerful data analysis feature, it’s an add-in to Excel (i.e. not a built-in Excel feature), and it’s the result of collaboration between the Excel and SQL teams. The BI Blog has been covering all news related to Gemini . ClearContext Brings Outlook 2010 Features to Outlook 2003 2007 Users
It's been a long wait, but the Office team is finally giving the public a preview of Outlook 2010 , slated for release in the first half of next year. Check out the end of this post to read more about Outlook 2010. But why wait for 2010 when ClearContext Personal and Pro have Outlook 2003 and 2007 users covered already? Here’s a breakdown of some of the new Outlook 2010 features and their ClearContext counterparts. Ignore Thread Unsubscribe Outlook 2010’s new Ignore Thread feature moves all messages in the current conversation to the Deleted Items folder. Future messages are also automatically removed from the Inbox. ClearContext’s Unsubscribe performs the same function, plus lets you review the messages later or resubscribe to a conversation.

SharePoint 2010 Technical Preview Released Today
Waking up this Monday morning, there is tons of information on SharePoint 2010 Technical Preview from Microsoft. More then its’ typical for pre-beta. With the initial information that is coming out of the technical preview of SharePoint 2010, I have a strong belief that this version of SharePoint, will be its finest. Sure there are huge improvements coming but I’m taking about getting them right. Web-Based Office The biggest news to come out of Redmond, most certainly a direct challenge to Google Apps, Microsoft is rolling out lightweight FREE Web browser versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote. What’s even bigger news is that Microsoft says that its browser versions have been tested on all major browsers aside from Internet Explorer, including Firefox and Safari.
